Research And Development Internship At Mercedes-Benz
We are the research team at Mercedes-Benz Cars. Our focus is on developing future concepts, innovative technologies, and new components and materials for the mobility of tomorrow.
In close collaboration with leading experts worldwide, we drive forward topics in the areas of interior, exterior, digitalization, smart materials, and e/e technologies and vehicle components.
Our team consists of dedicated and collegial employees who look forward to welcoming you to the Future Technologies Lab and integrating you into their tasks.
During your internship, you will gain comprehensive insights into our research operations and actively support us in implementing innovative projects. You will contribute to a variety of tasks related to our research prototypes and learn the entire process from preparation to execution.
Your tasks
- Preparation and support in material testing
- Conducting material tests on universal testing machines
- Preparation and accompaniment of component tests
- Documentation and evaluation of test results
- Assistance in mechanical material processing (e.g., turning, drilling, milling)
- Assembly of smaller demonstrators and experimental setups
- Cooperation with internal workshops and departments
- Support in vehicle conversions and prototype assemblies
The activity can start from August 2026.
Qualifications
- Study in a technical field (e.g., materials science, textile technology, material science, vehicle technology, mechanical engineering, or comparable)
- First practical experience (e.g., training or internships) is advantageous
- Good German and English skills in writing and speaking
- Secure use of MS Office
- Commitment, team capability, and independent working style
- Analytical thinking and structured approach
- Valid driver’s license class B
