We design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizing computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as CAD, CAM, or CATIA, we gather information, conduct studies, compute calculations, and prepare original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposals. We coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups, considering ease of manufacture, material availability, and contractual specifications.
Qualifications- High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of experience; OR Associates degree or other 2‑year technical degree in a related discipline with 1 year experience.
- Proficiency in SHIP CONSTRUCTOR and AUTOCAD for supporting design and drawing extraction/development, or Siemens NX for generating VWI – Virtual Work Instructions.
