Research And Development In Powertrain Integration Large Cars

In the corporate research and Mercedes-Benz Cars development (RD), we shape the automotive generations of the future. By this we mean innovative products with the highest quality and efficient development processes. We are already working on vehicles that will secure the technology leadership of the Mercedes-Benz Group in the future.

The department of overall vehicle testing large cars (RD/VLV) is responsible for the validation and testing of the S-Class, GLE-/GLS-Class as well as the EQS. Within the department, our team is responsible for the powertrain integration of the power unit or eDrives. The main task is to ensure, together with the specialist departments, the coordination of the electric drive train in the overall vehicle, the overall thermal safety and a customer-friendly NVH behavior of all drive components.

You can expect a versatile field of activity in the overall vehicle development with insights into the classic drive technologies as well as the future-oriented electromobility.

These challenges come to you, among others:

  • Coordination in the updating of test vehicles in the form of assembly and modifications in the workshops
  • Participation and planning of test drives and driving tests for the coordination and evaluation of the overall vehicle
  • Participation in daily test work such as, for example, evaluations of vehicle measurements, preparations of presentations, coordination of technical topics, etc.

The activity can start in September 2026.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable degree
  • Secure German and English language skills in speech and writing
  • Secure handling of MS-Office
  • Engagement and team capability
  • Analytical way of thinking as well as independent and solution-oriented way of working
  • Own initiative and communication skills
  • Driving license class B
