The Mercedes-Benz Group AG is one of the most successful automotive companies in the world. With the Mercedes-Benz AG, the vehicle manufacturer is one of the largest providers of premium and luxury cars and vans.

In the corporate research and Mercedes-Benz Cars development (RD) department, we shape the automotive generation of the future. The department deals with the holistic thermomanagement for all Mercedes-Benz cars with the aim of optimizing the thermal balance in the entire vehicle. This includes, for example, the design of the cooling openings and the optimization of the air path, the design and approval of the cooling circuits, the compliance with permissible temperature limits at all relevant components and the optimization of the interior comfort.

In addition, the department develops all assemblies and components for the air and media-conducting cooling of all Mercedes Benz car series. It operates innovative test rigs, a specialized specialist workshop and provides measurement-ready vehicles for thermal assurance.

These challenges come to you, among others:

• Support in the design and approval of technically demanding components
• Cooperation within the projects with internal interfaces, such as the workshop areas, purchasing, quality assurance and cost estimation
• Support of the team in the coordination of the development process of our components from the conceptual phase to the series start
• Design of presentations with technical content
• Setting up and evaluating tests in the team's own test field at various test rigs

You can expect exciting special topics in the team and in the department, among others:

• Insight into specific development projects of the thermomanagement
• Independent processing of project topics
• Getting to know different areas of the company and our product lines/series
• Visiting and getting to know development processes, test rigs, prototype construction and much more

The activity can start in October 2026.

• Study with a focus on vehicle or engine technology, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable course of study
• Secure handling of MS-Office, knowledge of CAD systems (preferably Siemens NX)
• Secure German and English skills in speech and writing
• Entrepreneurial and strategic thinking and acting, pronounced goal and result orientation, negotiation skills and team capability, pronounced communication skills, innovative participation and creative input are desirable
