Intralox is currently seeking a mechanical engineer for our New Product Development Team to work out of our New Orleans office. In this design focused position, you will be responsible for continuously improving our products and developing new ones. You will transform new ideas into solutions that enable our customers to meet their product handling and throughput needs. The product development process includes the specification, concepting, evaluation, and validation of product solutions.

• Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical components and systems applying principles of physics, mechanics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, vibration, acoustics, and material science per mechanical engineering standards.
• Own the entire new product development process from problem definition to product release: conducting voice of customer studies, defining customer performance requirements, developing project scope, creating engineering specifications, brainstorming concepts, holding design reviews, developing virtual and physical prototypes, evaluating prototypes, developing and executing test plans, conducting field testing and gathering customer feedback, refining designs, and integrating products into production systems.
• Collaborate with in‑house patent attorney to file patents for new concepts.
• Work with cross‑functional teams across the business to ensure successful product launches.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Recent professional experience in Solid Modeling (Solid Works, Pro‑E, Inventor, or similar software).
• 7+ years of engineering experience (preferred in Product Development, Machine Design, Test Equipment Design, etc.).
