Research And Development Position At Mercedes-Benz

We are the research division of Mercedes-Benz Cars. We develop future concepts, innovative technologies, components, and materials for tomorrow's mobility. We work together with leading experts in the fields of interior, exterior, digitalization, smart materials, and new E/E technologies.

You will join a motivated and collegial team that looks forward to your support in the Future Technologies Lab. With us, you will work closely on innovative research projects and gain exciting insights into the development of future materials and technologies.

You will take responsibility for testing materials and components, support order management, and work with equipment, machines, and research prototypes. This way, you can apply and further develop your technical knowledge in practice.

You will actively support our research operations and gain comprehensive insights into exciting development processes and the daily work in an innovative research environment.

The following exciting tasks await you:

• Preparation of various material tests
• Conducting material tests on universal testing machines
• Preparation of various component tests
• Documentation and evaluation of results
• Assistance in material processing, e.g., turning, drilling, and milling
• Assembly of small demonstrators
• Support in vehicle management
• Active participation in the operation of the Future Technologies Lab in Böblingen
• Cooperation with internal workshops
• Support in vehicle conversions

The work-study position can start between August and October 2026.

The duration of the work-study position is ideally 6-12 months.

Qualifications:

• Ongoing studies in a technical field, e.g., textile technology, textile design, material sciences, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a comparable field
• Technical training is a plus, but not required
• Secure German and English language skills in speech and writing
• Secure handling of Microsoft Office
• Engagement, team spirit, and an independent working style
• Analytical thinking and a structured approach
