Civil Engineer II (Rail/Transit Projects) – 2 Years of Experience Required

• Compensation: USD $65,000 - $90,000 annually

Position Overview:

Support the planning, design, and delivery of BRT and LRT projects nationally as part of AECOM’s Transit‑Rail practice. Work in Austin, Houston, or New Orleans offices.

• Support BRT projects: roadway, drainage, maintenance of traffic, station, civil/site grading, transit signal priority systems
• Assist multidisciplinary teams through all project phases—from conceptual design through construction
• Ensure compliance with FTA guidelines, local agency standards, and applicable codes
• Coordinate with transit agencies, municipalities, and stakeholders to ensure project success
• Mentor entry level engineers and foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence

• BA/BS with at least 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Micro Station
• Experience with transit infrastructure design, including LRT, BRT, and commuter rail
• Familiarity with transit agencies and regional transportation priorities
• Experience in engineering project delivery, including design and construction phases
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, permitting, and regulatory processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
