We’re looking for a Junior Civil and Structural Engineer that will support civil and structural design, infrastructure planning, technical documentation, and field coordination for commercial and industrial construction projects. This role is intended for an early-career engineer with practical experience, strong technical curiosity, and a desire to grow within a fast‑paced construction environment.
The Junior Civil and Structural Engineer will assist with structural calculations, analysis, plan preparation, drawing redlines, field evaluations, and technical coordination under the guidance of senior engineering and project leadership. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to connect design intent with real‑world field conditions.
Core Responsibilities- Civil and Structural Design Support
- Assist with civil and structural design activities for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure‑related projects.
- Support structural design efforts involving steel framing, foundations, structural components, and related project systems.
- Perform engineering calculations and assist with structural analysis under the direction of senior technical leadership.
- Assist with infrastructure planning and technical evaluation for assigned projects.
- Review project information and help identify technical questions, coordination needs, or potential design concerns.
- Technical Analysis and Calculations
- Prepare and organize engineering calculations, analysis summaries, and supporting technical documentation.
- Use structural analysis software and engineering tools to support design development and technical review.
- Assist with evaluating structural systems, framing conditions, foundation approaches, and project‑specific design requirements.
- Support analysis related to hot‑rolled steel framing, cold‑rolled steel framing, shallow foundations, deep foundations, and related structural elements.
- Review calculations and technical work for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements.
- Ask questions, seek guidance, and continuously build technical understanding through practical project involvement.
- Drawings, Redlines, and Documentation
- Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and related design platforms to prepare, revise, and redline drawings.
- Assist with preparation of detailed drawings, plans, specifications, sketches, and technical exhibits.
- Support plan preparation and documentation updates based on engineering direction, field observations, project changes, and coordination needs.
- Maintain organized design files, technical records, redlines, calculation packages, and project documentation.
- Assist with tracking revisions, comments, updates, and technical deliverables.
- Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and usable by project teams, field personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Occasional Field Visits and Site Evaluation
- Participate in occasional site visits and site evaluations when needed to observe project progress, existing conditions, quality of work, and constructability considerations.
- Document field observations, measurements, photos, site conditions, and potential concerns for review with engineering and project leadership.
- Support evaluation of real‑world conditions that may affect design, construction sequencing, installation quality, or project execution.
