We in the Layout Planning Body Shop team shape the future of the production world body shop worldwide together. The Body Shop Layout Planning team is a cross-functional department of the body shop planning and is responsible for the space planning of the new type planning projects of all Mercedes Benz passenger car series at all production sites worldwide.

Our team currently consists of six highly motivated and friendly colleagues who look forward to your support.

Mobile working is regularly used by us.

These tasks will be your responsibility:

• Development and support of the CarF Layout Tool to support worldwide body shop layout planning
• Creation, maintenance, and provision of layout cells and libraries for plant suppliers
• Support in setting up a digital space management for body shop halls and production facilities
• Development and optimization of digital planning tools for space and layout data
• Analysis, preparation, and visualization of planning data in modern dashboards and databases
• Support in the networking and synchronization of data between different planning systems (e.g., FAPLIS, DiFa, CarF Layout Tool)
• Collaboration in the development and introduction of AI-supported solutions for body shop and factory planning
• Creation of training materials, short videos, and user guides for digital planning tools
• Support in the digitization of planning processes and the introduction of new software solutions
• Collaboration in international projects to further develop layout planning and the digital workplace

The position can start in September 2026.

Qualifications:

• Study in engineering sciences, architecture, computer science, or comparable
• Foreign experience/intercultural experience or interest in intercultural cooperation
• Analytical and conceptual ability with digital competence
• Problem-solving skills
• Good technical understanding and high affinity to our Mercedes-Benz products
• Extended MS-Office skills and knowledge of CAD software Bentley Micro Station Connect are an advantage
• Fluent German language skills
• Extended English language skills required
• Motivation and enthusiasm for vehicle construction and for dynamic planning processes in an international environment
• Willingness to change and flexibility to contribute to new processes and rapid changes
• Team capability
