Location: Iowa

A growing manufacturer in the Dubuque area is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys product design, manufacturing support, continuous improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions from concept to production. This is a direct hire opportunity. Meaning, the right fit candidate would go directly onto the hiring company's payroll and be eligible for their benefits package.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and products.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Support new product development and engineering change processes.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to resolve engineering and production issues.
  • Analyze designs and manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
  • Assist with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment-related issues.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Two or more years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience using 3D CAD software such as Solid Works and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple engineering projects and priorities.
  • Experience with ERP systems and engineering documentation.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting production and new product implementation.
