As a Materials Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring project materials are planned, controlled, and delivered efficiently to support successful project execution. Purposeof the Role
Play an integral role in delivering effective materials management across complex EPC/EPCM projects. You will be responsible for developing and executing project materials strategies that ensure quality materials are available when and where they are needed while optimizing cost, minimizing surplus, and supporting safe, efficient construction activities.
As the primary materials management interface across project disciplines, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all materials management activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives, customer expectations, and Worley's standards and procedures.
Core ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for:
- Leading all aspects of project materials management from planning through final disposition of project materials.
- Developing and implementing project-specific Materials Management Strategies, Plans, Procedures, and Materials Responsibility Matrices.
- Managing the day-to-day activities and workload of the materials management team, providing leadership, coaching, and technical guidance.
- Ensuring compliance with Worley policies, procedures, delegated authority requirements, and the Worley Code of Conduct.
- Coordinating materials management activities across engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, fabrication, and project management teams.
- Planning project material requirements by aligning engineering deliverables, construction priorities, procurement schedules, and project execution plans.
- Overseeing the safe receipt, preservation, storage, handling, security, issuing, and disposal of project materials.
- Developing bulk materials procurement and execution strategies that support project schedules and minimize waste.
- Identifying appropriate contingency requirements for bulk materials to effectively manage fabrication and construction losses.
- Monitoring material availability, shortages, delivery status, and inventory levels while proactively resolving supply chain challenges.
- Coordinating and supporting the development of Construction Work Packages (CWP), Advanced Work Packages (AWP), and Procurement Work Packages (PWP).
- Ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of materials management data within enterprise systems such as AVEVA ERM, Smart Plant Materials, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.
- Producing and analyzing materials reports, shortage reports, inventory reports, and performance metrics to support project decision-making.
- Participating in project risk assessments and identifying materials-related risks while developing practical mitigation strategies.
- Working closely with suppliers, procurement teams, and project stakeholders to ensure materials are delivered safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance materials management processes, systems, and project performance.
- Coaching and developing team members while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
- Encouraging innovation and sharing best practices that improve materials management outcomes across projects.
You are an experienced materials management professional who understands how critical effective planning, coordination, and execution are to successful project delivery. You build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and confidently lead teams through complex project challenges.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in Materials Control or Materials Management within EPC or EPCM project environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading materials management teams on large, complex industrial projects.
