What You ll Do
- Design and evaluate electrical and mechanical building systems for commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, and public infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, construction drawings, specifications, technical reports, equipment schedules, cost estimates, and permit documentation.
- Perform field investigations, existing-condition assessments, and support renovation and new construction projects.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, utility providers, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout all phases of a project.
- Review shop drawings, contractor submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs), while providing construction administration and commissioning support.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while assisting with proposal preparation and business development efforts.
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience designing electrical or mechanical building systems within a consulting engineering environment.
- Experience working on commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, or public infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, engineering standards, and construction practices.
- Experience preparing construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations.
- Proficiency with engineering design software and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred. Candidates actively pursuing licensure will also be considered.
