Moses Engineers is a New Orleans-based consulting engineering firm established in 1947 by Warren G. Moses and is now in its second generation of family management, led by Howard Moses.

The firm provides mechanical, electrical and telecommunications engineering consulting services for government agencies, developers, building owners and architectural firms who require such services. All senior design personnel are registered professional engineers and 70% of the firm's technical staff are LEED Accredited Professionals.

Sustainable Design has become a major focus of the firm in recent years. Moses Engineers wasthe Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineers for the USA Global Green Holy Cross Project, a sustainable residential and community center complex achieving LEED Platinum Ratings in the New Orleans Lower Ninth Ward. Moses Engineers also designed the first LEED rated film studio in the Country, achieving LEED Gold Certification and over 15 LEED Silver and LEED Gold K-12 schools in New Orleans.

The firm provides services regionally among the States along the Gulf of Mexico Coast and even internationally. One of the firm's Principals, Lenny Zimmermann, has extensive international experience having designed projects on every continent.

Our recent portfolio includes significant hospitality projects beginning with the Lucayan Plaza Resort on Grand Bahamas and local projects such as the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences, and Condominiums, The Standard Condominiums; the Odeon Apartment; the Virgin Hotel; and, the NOPSI Hotel.

The Chief Mechanical Engineer is a pivotal leader within the mechanical engineering department, responsible for driving technical excellence, overseeing project execution, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role involves guiding the engineering team through complex projects, managing resources effectively, and maintaining the highest standards of design and implementation. The Chief Mechanical Engineer will ensure that all mechanical systems meet regulatory requirements and align with client expectations, while also contributing to business growth through strategic proposal development.

• Lead comprehensive peer reviews of mechanical designs, ensuring they meet quality standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the mechanical design process from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
• Sign and seal designs as a licensed Professional Engineer, ensuring all work meets legal and professional standards for safety and functionality.

• Spearhead the development of technical proposals for new projects, including detailed scopes of work, design strategies, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with the business development team to identify new opportunities and support proposal efforts, contributing to the company's growth and market presence.
• Review and refine proposals to ensure they align with company capabilities and client needs.

• Supervise and mentor the mechanical engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Review and approve timesheets, ensuring accurate tracking of labor hours and resource allocation across multiple projects.
• Manage the workload and availability of mechanical personnel, ensuring optimal resource utilization and minimizing bottlenecks.
• Assign project responsibilities to team members, balancing expertise and workload to achieve project goals efficiently.

• Provide expert guidance on mechanical designs throughout all project phases, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Address and resolve technical challenges that arise during the design and implementation phases, leveraging deep mechanical engineering expertise.
• Ensure that all mechanical systems are designed to meet client expectations, project requirements, and safety regulations.

• Maintain and update the mechanical engineering technical library, including standard specifications, design guides, and reference materials.
• Ensure that design standards reflect current best practices, technological advancements, and industry trends, continuously improving the quality and efficiency of mechanical designs.

• Maintain active Professional Engineer licensure, ensuring the ability to stamp and certify mechanical designs across relevant jurisdictions.
• Stay informed on changes in industry regulations, codes, and standards, ensuring that all mechanical work complies with the latest legal and regulatory requirements.
• Implement compliance checks and audits to ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards across all projects.
