Job DescriptionOversees the operation of the Sports Book Room during shift. Provides guest services by providing information and assistance, and by responding to guests’ needs and managing team members. Manages the liability of all Boyd Gaming Corporation Sports Books.
- Manages liability of by appropriately adjusting odds and point spreads
- Provides training, direction and support to hub room staff
- Sets up events, posts results, makes odds for all betting wagering events
- Ensures all computerized betting systems are functional
- Notifies appropriate personnel of any outages
- Troubleshoots with vendors
- Ensures mobile app wagering is functional
- Provides scheduling for hub room staff
- Manages all breaks and lunches
- Communicates results/reports to Management daily
- Protects company assets
- Works front line of Race and Sports book when necessary
- Provides excellent customer service
- Communicates wagering information to satellite properties
- Minimum 5 years of odds-making experience
- Minimum 5 years of sports book supervisory experience
- Extensive knowledge of sports data feeds
- Extensive knowledge of computerized risk management systems
- Decision-making skills in high pressure situations
- Critical thinking
- Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming regulations.
