Position
Director of Finance Operations
OverviewDe La Salle High School of New Orleans is seeking a trained and qualified financial professional responsible for overseeing the school's business office, managing accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance with regulations.
Work SettingFull‑time, in‑person position with benefits. This role provides oversight to the positions of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and reports to the President of the school.
Salary$90,000 - $120,000 (based upon qualifications and experience)
Key Responsibilities- Financial Management:
Directing the business office, including managing payroll, accounts payable/receivable positions, and general ledger functions, including management and oversight of all external accounts. - Budget:
Annual preparation of in‑house line‑item annual budget and District template budget, capital budget. - Reporting:
Preparing, analyzing, and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports inclusive of Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Budget to Actuals, Budget Forecast, and Cash Flow Projection. - Audit:
Annual audit lead in preparing for and supporting auditors selected by Board of Trustees. - Internal Controls:
Establishing and maintaining systems to protect the integrity of financial data and assets. - Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, tax laws, and government regulations.
- Education:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is required, or a master's degree (MBA). - Certification: A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation is highly valued.
- Experience:
Generally requires five or more years of experience in accounting or financial management, with experience in a supervisory capacity. - Skills:
Strong knowledge of accounting software, advanced Quick Books and Excel skills, and a deep understanding of financial governance and reporting.
