Job Overview
Director of Financial Reporting – oversees external reporting, prepares SEC filings (10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K), reviews financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, ensures compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations. Leads a team, supports technical accounting matters, implements new standards, ensures SOX compliance, mentors staff, and drives process improvement.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review quarterly SEC filings.
- Manage collection and review of company‑wide financial data.
- Perform ad‑hoc technical and compliance projects.
- Field questions from internal and external audit.
- Mentor and develop staff.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data review to ensure accurate, complete, and timely reporting.
- Support construction of financial statements, footnotes, MD&A.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls.
- Implement new accounting standards and SOX requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 8+ years experience in public or progressive accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience with SEC rules and regulations.
- Preferred CPA certification.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- High attention to detail.
- Experience leading teams and managing deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, advanced Excel/Sheets.
Hybrid: 3 days in‑office per week, up to 2 days remote.
