Job Summary/Purpose
The Tax Accounting Analyst supports the Company’s tax accounting and compliance processes across multiple jurisdictions. This position assists with the preparation, accrual, reporting, and payment of various state and local tax obligations while ensuring compliance with applicable statutes and regulatory requirements.
Job Duties /Responsibilities- Prepare and record tax accruals and supporting work papers.
- Prepare state and local tax filings, including sales and use tax.
- Support property tax reporting and compliance activities.
- Assist with tax audits and information requests.
- Reconcile tax-related accounts and support close processes.
- Monitor deadlines and maintain compliance documentation.
- Support process improvements and internal controls. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1–3+ years of accounting, tax, or related experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong accounting and reconciliation knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
- Analytical and problem‑solving ability
- ERP experience
- Utility or regulated industry experience
- Exposure to SALT taxes
- CPA or progress toward certification, preferred.
- Able to operate personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
- Able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to operate copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
- Able to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned, within your scope of responsibilities.
- Job duties are performed in a normal and clean office environment with normal noise levels.
- Work is predominantly done while standing or sitting.
- The ability to comprehend, document, calculate, visualize and analyze are required.
- Able to work regular hours, with occasional overtime.
