· Part time Apply for Accounting and FP&A Internship (client-facing)
If your Accounting and Finance courses have sparked a passion for numbers, process improvement, and entrepreneurship, we'll give you robust, resume-building experience. You'll build skills in Finance and Accounting best practices, cloud-based tools for small & mid-sized businesses, and exposure to the unique opportunities of working with growing companies.
About Series Next Solutions LLCSeries Next Solutions (SNS) is based in New Orleans, and we get business owners out of the Finance seat using data-driven Finance and Accounting solutions to do more with less. We solve for a common frustration among leaders of growing businesses:
Finance and Accounting responsibilities are burning up time and energy better directed towards expansion and customer outreach. SNS liberates leadership teams to pursue their companies' core missions. We achieve this vision by providing Executive-level expertise on a fractional basis, ensuring a price point that fits in growing companies' budgets.
What is Series Next Solutions?
We are a scaling start-up based in New Orleans, LA.Our company was founded to address the need for CFO‑level expertise for growth‑stage businesses without a full‑time resource. Our model pairs fractional CFOs (who serve as part‑time CFOs for multiple clients) with entrepreneur clients, giving them early access to Executive‑level Finance talent for the cost of an entry‑level employee.
What role would I play at SNS?We have built a Client Operations team around our fCFOs to create an assembly line for the services they provide our clients. Our interns sit in what we call the “Pulse Specialist” seat on that assembly line. In that seat, our interns’ focus is setting our fCFOs up for a successful monthly Pulse meeting with their clients. Interns accomplish this by owning the following responsibilities:
- Perform monthly checklist steps that ensure our clients’ accounting records stay clean and consistent.
- Update our clients’ financial projections.
- Update the metrics we track for our clients.
- Took an accounting course and it “clicked” for you.
- You secretly think spreadsheets are fun.
- Very strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to take direction and provide support on day‑to‑day administrative duties and data entry.
- Share our passion for working with entrepreneurs.
- Prior experience not required, only a willingness to learn.
We offer robust resume‑building experience show up with what you learned in your Finance and Accounting courses and put that knowledge to work immediately. You’ll help the team run monthly accounting close procedures, maintain financial projections, and take charge of processes that will run efficiently and reduce errors. You’ll gain specific experience in tools like Microsoft Excel, Quick Books Online, Asana, and Microsoft Teams.
Because we’re a small, close‑knit office, you’ll have lots of exposure to your peers, colleagues with many years of experience, and the leadership team of the company. You’ll see what is involved in running a start‑up beyond the client work. We’ll give you lots to talk about in your next interview and skills that are broadly applicable throughout a wide variety of career paths.
Or if you find you love our mission as much as we do, master the tasks we give you, and are hungry to learn more, there are also opportunities to advance within SNS after you graduate.
“Endearingly Nerdy”. Our team shares a passion for Finance and Accounting, and our strength comes from combining forces and using our collective expertise in these areas to help our clients scale.
This is a part‑time, paid ($13/hour) position for Spring Semester and Summer 2024 (and beyond!). Our part‑time interns play an integral role and ideally can commit to at least six months in the role. This position requires between 15‑20 hours per week of availability.
