A Loan Processing Specialist supports the end-to-end lending process from application to origination to servicing. Ensures adherence to compliance and regulatory driven requirements, deadlines and procedures throughout the life of various lending products offered by Bank Iowa. This position will be responsible for providing an accurate, efficient and consistent flow of information between relationship managers and operational teams ensuring that agreed upon service level agreements are maintained.

In addition, this role will be particularly focused on maintaining complete loan files in Bank Iowa’s electronic document warehouse. Provides a friendly, quality internal and external client experience and treats internal and external clients with respect and dignity at all times.

Core Responsibilities
  • Prioritizes the creation and on-going maintenance of accurate and comprehensive loan files in OnBase that adhere to bank loan file standards in a timely manner.
  • Collects loan applicant financial data, organizational and background information to assist Relationship Managers in determining the general credit worthiness of the prospect and the specific merits of the loan request.
  • Coordinates the handoff of client and loan information between Relationship Managers, Loan Doc Prep and Loan Servicing/Ops teams.
  • Assembles and reviews loan closing packages to ensure loan terms are accurate, format is consistent with bank practice, documentation and information are complete, and notifications and deadlines are met.
  • Works with relationship management team to ensure pre & post loan close checklists are followed and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Provides direct service to loan clients including answering client inquiries regarding loan terms, blue book values, and other miscellaneous questions.
  • Receives and processes loan payments and fees.
  • Monitors and reviews various reports for past dues and other maintenance items.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, processes, and lending products.
  • May occasionally be called on by leader to perform Loan Doc Prep duties during seasonal peaks periods.
  • Resolves issues and problems constructively and collaboratively, escalating to their leader when appropriate.
  • Responsible for respectful and constructive interaction with both internal clients (Relationship Management staff) and at the direction of Relationship Management staff, external clients.
  • Interacts with a variety of professionals and represents the bank in interactions with bank clients and other professionals.
General Responsibilities
  • As available, assists other Loan Processing Specialists in different locations with similar tasks.
  • Has access to confidential information relating to clients and accounts. Protects the privacy and confidentiality of clients, other team members, and work.
  • Performs other bank related duties as assigned by leader.
  • Understands and complies with banking regulations by following bank policies and procedures. Stays abreast of relevant regulations, current industry matters, and any changes implemented internally to ensure compliance.
  • Regular client contact at the direction of the relationship manager.
Requirements Required Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • At least one-year previous work experience in a professional office environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of Laser Pro & OnBase or similar solutions preferred.
