Location: Newton, IA FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Reports To: Branch Manager
Are you an experienced member service professional who enjoys helping others succeed while delivering exceptional service? Advantage Credit Union is seeking a Lead Teller to serve as the operational leader of our teller line. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring teammates, solving problems, improving processes, and creating an outstanding experience for every member.
As our Lead Teller, you'll continue serving members while helping coordinate daily teller operations, maintaining procedures, providing operational guidance, and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency throughout the branch.
What You'll do- Delivering exceptional member service through accurate and efficient transaction processing.
- Coordinating daily teller workflow and preparing teller schedules to ensure proper branch coverage.
- Serving as the primary operational resource for teller procedures and transaction questions.
- Approving authorized transaction exceptions, overrides, fee refunds, and check approvals within established authority.
- Assisting with teller balancing, cash management, ATM and vault operations, and operational controls.
- Developing, maintaining, and communicating teller procedures to promote consistency and compliance.
- Assisting with onboarding and coaching new tellers while providing day-to-day operational guidance.
- Identifying process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve the member experience.

Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in member service, cash handling, or financial institution operations.
- Teller experience or experience supporting teller operations preferred.
- Previous lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience preferred.
- Strong cash handling, balancing, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to coach and support peers without direct supervisory authority.
- Thorough knowledge of financial institution operations, policies, and member service best practices.
