Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New Orleans

If your ideal job is split between chasing new clients and doing the work you actually care about, this probably isn't it. But if you want to go deep on financial planning and investment strategy for a firm with a strong, established client base, keep reading.

We’re a well-regarded wealth management firm in the Greater New Orleans area looking for a Senior Wealth Strategist to anchor our planning and investment process. You’ll work across portfolio management, comprehensive financial planning, and advisor support. The role has real scope, and we’re looking for someone who’s ready for it.

Who We Are

We serve individuals, families, business owners, and retirees across the Gulf Coast region. Our practice has been built over many years through consistent, high-quality client work. The team is collaborative and holds itself to a high standard. We care about doing things right, and we’re selective about who we bring on.

What You’ll Do

This role sits across three areas. There’s no single lane.

Portfolio and Investment Work
  • Implement portfolio trades and monitor holdings against the firm’s investment philosophy
  • Research investment managers, markets, and economic developments; bring findings forward in a clear, usable format
  • Evaluate opportunities and contribute portfolio recommendations
  • Participate in investment discussions and serve as an active contributor
Financial Planning
  • Build thorough financial plans for clients covering retirement, tax, estate, business succession, insurance, and wealth transfer
  • Research advanced planning strategies and maintain a working library of approaches the team can draw from
  • Update recommendations as clients’ lives and goals evolve over time
Advisor and Client Support
  • Serve as the firm’s go-to resource when advisors need backup on complex cases
  • Review client statements, identify issues, and translate findings into clear next steps
  • Prepare for client meetings and take ownership of assigned client relationships
  • Help produce market commentary, client‑facing educational content, and firm communications
What We’re Looking For Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data and models
  • Background in finance, banking, investment research, corporate finance, consulting, risk management, or a comparable field
Strongly Preferred
  • MBA or advanced graduate degree
  • CFA, CFP, or CPA, or active progress toward one of these credentials
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and standard financial planning software
Nice to Have
  • Prior experience inside a wealth management or financial advisory firm
  • Additional professional designations or ongoing continuing education
Who You Are

You’re intellectually curious and stay current on markets and planning strategy because you find the work genuinely interesting. You think analytically and communicate clearly. You can take a complex recommendation and explain it in plain language to a client who didn’t ask to become a finance expert.

You take ownership without being told to. You notice what needs doing and handle it. You make the people around you better, not harder to work with. And your work product reflects a standard of detail that speaks for itself.

Compensation and Benefits
  • $95K - $148K base salary (commensurate with experience) and performance-based bonuses
  • 401(k) with employer contribution
  • PTO
  • Licensing and professional development support and reimbursement

This is a full-time, in-office role in the Greater New Orleans area.
