Location: Iowa
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end evaluation and execution of strategic transactions (licensing, M&A, structured financings, asset-level partnerships) from opportunity framing through diligence, valuation, and negotiation support.
- Partner with senior leadership on key business and financial decisions using insights, scenario modeling, and assessment of strategic options.
- Apply advanced valuation frameworks (e.g., real options, probabilistic modeling) to inform investment decisions and transaction structuring.
- Synthesize complex analyses into clear recommendations for senior leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders.
- Support investor relations through analysis of Street models, management of external expectations, development of investor materials, and preparation for earnings and key corporate events.
- Bachelors degree in science, engineering, business, finance, economics, or related analytical discipline (required).
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent) (strongly preferred).
- 2-4 years of management consulting experience with progression to team leadership (e.g., Engagement Manager or equivalent) (required).
- Demonstrated experience conducting commercial diligence on biotechnology assets (required).
- Exceptional problem-solving with first-principles approach to scientific and business questions.
- Ability to translate clinical/commercial insights into diligence-grade analyses and transaction materials.
- Deep fluency in financial modeling and valuation (required); real options analysis and/or Monte Carlo simulation (highly preferred).
- Organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines; clear written and presentation communication.
- Familiarity with IQVIA and/or Bloomberg/Capital IQ.
- In-person role; 4-5 days/week in Palo Alto office.
- Salary range: $222,800-$274,800 USD.
