Financial Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Financial Advisor to join an established wealth management team in Dubuque or Iowa City, Iowa
. This role is responsible for managing existing client relationships while developing new relationships and delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment advice.

The ideal candidate is an experienced advisor who enjoys working directly with clients, collaborating across a team, and serving as a trusted resource on financial planning and investment decisions. This individual will play an active role in client meetings, financial plan development, portfolio strategy, new client onboarding, and business development, while also helping mentor and support other members of the advisory team.

• Manage existing client relationships and help clients develop and achieve their long-term wealth goals.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive financial plans, including gathering client information, evaluating planning assumptions, and developing appropriate recommendations.
• Advise clients on investment strategies and financial products within the context of their overall financial plans.
• Develop asset allocation strategies and work with the investment team to implement and rebalance client portfolios.
• Participate actively in client meetings through presentations, financial analysis, and facilitation of planning and investment discussions.
• Coordinate new client onboarding and the transfer of assets in partnership with the operations team.
• Collaborate closely with fellow Financial Advisors, client service professionals, administrative staff, and investment professionals.
• Develop new client relationships and build strong Centers of Influence (COI) within the local community and professional network.
• Research investment opportunities, products, managers, and vendors as needed.
• Create customized analysis and financial worksheets to address individual client questions and planning needs.
• Help train, mentor, and supervise Wealth Analysts, Financial Advisors, and other support professionals as appropriate.
• Contribute to broader investment, management, and client-service decisions across the firm.
• Maintain appropriate controls and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and firm policies.

• 5+ years of relevant financial advisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline

• CFP® certification
  , including completion of the CFP program and examination.
• Completion of the SIE, Series 65, Series 7, and Series 66
  , along with appropriate advisory licenses required by state and federal regulators.
• Strong financial planning and investment knowledge with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable client recommendations.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain trusted client and professional relationships.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership of client relationships.
• Strong leadership and delegation skills with the ability to mentor and develop other team members.
• High degree of discretion and ability to maintain strict client confidentiality.
