Bank Teller

Retail Banker Mississippi River Bank - Port Sulpher, LA Mississippi River Bank is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Retail Banker (Teller) to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted resource for our customers, helping them with a variety of banking needs while providing an exceptional banking experience. As a key member of our retail banking team, you will support both retail and commercial customers, strengthen customer relationships, and help identify solutions that meet their financial needs.

As a Retail Banker II, you will:

Assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, and a variety of banking transactions.

Balance ATMs, cash dispensers/recyclers, or manage vault operations as assigned.

Process debit card requests, including card orders, replacements, and PIN resets.

Accept and process debit card disputes in partnership with the Electronic Banking Department.

Enhance the customer experience by assisting with stop payments, address changes, check orders, and other account maintenance requests.

Comply with all Bank policies and procedures, including Integrated Teller Override Procedures.

Serve as a retail online banking specialist and resource for customers.

Mentor and support new team members through training and guidance.

Build and strengthen customer relationships through exceptional service and proactive communication.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Retail Bank Manager or Bank leadership.

Minimum of one year of retail banking experience.

Previous cash handling experience.

Strong customer service background.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Professional appearance and demeanor.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to multitask and prioritize in a customer-focused environment.

Leadership qualities and willingness to mentor others.

Knowledge of retail banking products and services.

Work Environment Primarily office-based setting with occasional outdoor activities.

Full-time position, generally 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.

Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to sit, communicate effectively, and perform routine office and banking activities. Employees may occasionally stand, walk, bend, kneel, or lift items weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
