Location: New Orleans
We are seeking a Home Loans Collector for the Home Loans Department in New Orleans, LA. This role manages delinquent mortgage accounts and supports loss mitigation, foreclosure processing, charge‑offs, and REO disposition. As an individual contributor, the Collector handles inbound/outbound collection calls, documents member interactions, prepares correspondence, recommends foreclosure actions, resolves or escalates member issues, and follows established procedures to remediate defaulted loans.
The position requires strong knowledge of mortgage delinquency workflows and a collaborative, solutions‑focused approach.
- Resolve member delinquencies while delivering exceptional service and strengthening relationships.
- Support loss‑mitigation efforts, delinquency management, and charge‑off standards with accuracy and consistency.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by helping refine processes and supporting team operations.
- Promote a positive, values‑driven team culture with strong collaboration and morale.
- Participate in cross‑training, backup support, and annual development to expand skills and capabilities.
- Maintain thorough, compliant documentation in FICS MS and Episys to ensure clear and reliable account records.
- Collections experience
- Loss Mitigation experience
- 1-2 years mortgage collections experience preferred
- 1-2 years loss mitigation experience preferred
- High School Diploma
- Some college
- Must have strong computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the ability to use basic office equipment.
- Ability to work as a productive and efficient team member while following directions to meet pressing deadlines.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks well.
- Demonstrate a high degree of competency in mathematical and reasoning skills.
- Strong verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Knowledge of servicing guidelines, general understanding of residential mortgage lending guidelines, State of Louisiana Real Estate Lending Laws, applicable compliance regulations, and regulatory agency rules which govern residential real estate servicing.
- Knowledge of mortgage collections, loss mitigation and foreclosure processes.
Schedule:
Default is Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm
Paygrade: 1CA
The expected pay range for this position is $23.78 to $24.76 per hour.
