Position OverviewThis position is responsible for the administration of the Child Support Enforcement (CSE) program within the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Division of Family Support. The goal of CSE is to ensure that parents fulfill their obligation to provide financial and medical support for their child/children. The incumbent will also provide direct supervision over a unit of professional social services staff that provides customer service in the CSE program.
RequiredExperience
- Six years of experience in child support enforcement.
- Six years of full‑time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in child support enforcement.
- A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in child support enforcement.
- A master’s degree plus two years of experience in child support enforcement.
Experience substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience toward the six years of full‑time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours, which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. - Perform as supervisor in the Child Support Enforcement Office in Amite, LA, which serves Livingston, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, St. Tammany and Washington parishes.
- Conduct unit and individual training.
- Conduct quarterly case readings according to agency parameters, maintaining notation of error trends.
- Investigate and resolve complaints from custodial parties, non‑custodial parties or other individuals.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the contract District Attorneys' offices, Clerk of Courts' offices, hearing officers, judges, and other agency partners, as well as other local, state, and federal agencies.
- Review policy updates and administrative memorandums.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

CompensationCSE Supervisor position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER): $24.35/hour.
Appointment TypeThis position may be filled as a probationary appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probationary appointments. It may also be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Work ScheduleTypically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday–Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and are dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
