Job Summary
Training‑level work in the enforcement of environmental or water pollution control laws and other environmental requirements mandated by state and federal agencies, including the EPA and Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. Work includes conducting enforcement activities related to Stormwater, Backflow Prevention, and Pretreatment, implementing associated programs and policy, and performing information collection, inspection, monitoring, sampling, public education, and related duties as requested.
Responsibilities- Conduct enforcement activities related to Stormwater, Backflow Prevention, and Pretreatment.
- Implement and support enforcement programs and policies.
- Collect information, conduct inspections, monitor, sample, and provide public education.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, or a closely related field.
- Official college transcript must be presented to the Sewerage and Water Board Personnel Office within two (2) weeks of application.
- Prior to appointment, the hiring agency will verify education and licenses claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this classification.
