Corrections ARDC Specialist

Allen Correctional Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Corrections ARDC Specialist. Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in offender records analysis, offender classification, offender pre-classification, security, or social services or as a probation or parole officer; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Serve in a critical role supporting facility operations through direct involvement with inmates as a member of the Inmate Disciplinary Board, helping maintain safety, accountability, and institutional order.
  • Manage and maintain accurate inmate records throughout the intake process and during the full duration of incarceration, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in inmate job assignment boards and support the overall classification process, helping assess placement decisions and contributing to rehabilitation and operational effectiveness.

Position-Specific Details :

Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE

  • Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
  • An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.

Career Progression Group : CORRECTIONS ARDC SPECIALIST 1, 2, OR 3

  • Filled at the highest level of experience of the selected applicant.
  • Salary depends on level of experience.
