Position Overview

Aalis Management Consulting is seeking a Contract Specialist to support a Federal Agency's Regional Contracting Office (RCO) in New Orleans, Louisiana. This position provides acquisition and contract policy support to a dynamic Department of Defense (DoD) organization responsible for procurement management and contracting operations.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive federal acquisition experience within the GS-1102 series (or equivalent) and a strong understanding of DoD procurement regulations, acquisition policies, and contract management practices. This individual will provide expert guidance, perform contract analysis, support policy implementation, and assist leadership with procurement-related initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide acquisition and contract policy support to contracting personnel and leadership.
  • Interpret and apply Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DFARS, and DoD procurement policies, regulations, and directives.
  • Conduct fact-finding, research, and analysis to resolve complex procurement issues and develop corrective action plans.
  • Prepare, track, monitor, and analyze contract and procurement data.
  • Develop reports and provide recommendations for monthly, quarterly, and annual program reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance and consultation on procurement management processes and policy changes.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient contract operations.
  • Draft written responses, briefings, and reports for senior government leadership.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with established procurement procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, Contracts, Purchasing, Economics, Industrial Management, Marketing, Quantitative Methods, Organizational Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct federal procurement experience in a GS-1102 series (or equivalent) role.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense acquisition and procurement operations.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience conducting analysis and resolving complex procurement issues.
  • Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DoD acquisition regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal contract policy organizations.
  • DAWIA or FAC-C certification.
  • Experience preparing executive reports and procurement metrics.
