Examination is announced to establish an employment list to fill one (1) current West Jefferson vacancy in the Department of Office of Central Grants Administration and for future vacancies as they occur.

Under general supervision, performs advanced professional work involving financial and/or regulatory compliance oversight of federal, state, and local grant programs. Responsible for monitoring grant management activities, reviewing expenditures, supporting audit activities, conducting risk assessments, monitoring subrecipients, and ensuring compliance with Uniform Guidance and grantor requirements. The employee serves as the primary grant compliance resource for departments receiving grant funding and performs related duties as required.

Position requires driving of a personal vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and personal automobile with minimum liability insurance available for business use (business travel is reimbursed on a mileage basis) will be given preference.

Current employment with Jefferson Parish and permanent civil service status in the classification of Accountant II – Central Finance Office; PLUS, substantial (at least 1 year 9 months) experience responsible for performing governmental grants accounting.

Promotional and limited entrance. Employees of equal or higher job classifications who meet the above qualification requirements may apply, but will be placed on an entrance eligibility list if they qualify. The examination may consist of a written test, a rating of training and experience, an oral panel interview or any combination thereof. Acceptable applicants will be notified of the time, date, and place of any assembled testing.
