Raymond Laborde Correctional Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Corrections ARDC Specialist to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate processing, classification, and time computation of offenders in accordance with legal and departmental standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, sound judgment, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of correctional records and release determinations.

As an essential part of our facility’s operational team, the ARDC Specialist helps support public safety, compliance, and the fair administration of offender sentences.

An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

• Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.

Three years of experience in offender records analysis, offender classification, offender pre-classification, security, or social services or as a probation or parole officer; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor’s degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

• Provides consultation and investigative services, reliant to the legality of sentencing, impact of specific court actions, applicability of current legislation, and pending charges or detainers to State and Federal judges, sheriff’s office personnel, state and U. S. District Attorneys, U. S. Marshals and immigration Services, state and federal probation and parole agencies and other state institutions.
• Processes court orders for offender appearances in court. Reviews new commitments to ensure compliance with sex offender identification and tracking, multiple offender restrictions and victim and gang notifications.
