Natural Resources Specialist; Ranger

• Plans and oversees the construction for the rehabilitation of campsites, picnic sites, roads, and associated structures in the recreation areas.
• Assigns and explains work requirements to subordinate team members for new or changed programs, functions, goals, and processes.
• Responsible for the administration, direction, management and control of the interpretive programs for visitors.
• Promotes safe working conditions and assures that project personnel receive proper safety training.
• Enforces Title 36 CFR by educating the visiting public on project purposes, conditions, policies and regulations.
• Deals regularly with the public in high stress emotional and potentially volatile situations, and works closely with other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires a valid Driver's License to operate motor vehicle.
• This position requires the incumbent to wear appropriate uniform in compliance with regulations.
• This position may be subject to a one-year probationary period, unless previously completed.
• Incumbent must be able to maintain required Corps of Engineers certification for operation of the motorboat.
• In this position, the incumbent serves as an incidental motor vehicle operator. Operates an automobile, light truck, ATV or motorboat to accomplish assigned duties.
• Temporary travel (TDY) of up to 10% of the time may be required.
