Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Service Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and other health challenges. As a Direct Service Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for clients through personalized care and assistance.
Duties
- Provide direct support to individuals in daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and overall health status, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Implement care plans tailored to each client's unique needs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Engage clients in social activities that promote emotional well-being and cognitive stimulation.
- Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving roles such as home health aide, nursing assistant, or direct support professional is preferred.
- Familiarity with first aid and CPR techniques is essential; certification is highly desirable.
- Experience working in group homes or assisted living facilities is advantageous.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring practices for individuals with developmental disabilities is required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
Shift Schedule
Thursday: 7 AM - 5:30 PM
Friday: 7 AM - 5:30 PM
Saturday: 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $9.00 per hour
Expected hours: 27 per week
