Chief Medical Officer - Iowa

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will report to and work closely with the President & CEO, while partnering with senior leaders and the Board of Directors to develop and execute organizational strategy. This executive will play a key role in shaping policies, advancing quality initiatives, and ensuring alignment with St. Anthony’s short- and longterm goals. The CMO will also provide leadership to employed, contracted, and aligned medical staff, as well as contracted medical directors.

• Lead the development and implementation of systems and processes that promote the highest standards of quality, patient safety, and evidence based care.
• Oversee, guide, and support medical management decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes while aligning with organizational objectives.
• Conduct routine chart reviews and audits, including spot checks, as part of ongoing Quality Assurance initiatives.
• Engage with medical staff on a regular, ongoing basis to identify opportunities for clinical improvement.
• Cultivate strong, collegial relationships with physicians and clinical team members to enhance engagement and support high quality patient care.
• Advise Administration on clinical strategy and recommend solutions to medical and operational challenges.

• Valid Iowa MD/DO license with no history of disciplinary action; board certified or board eligible in area of specialty.
• Current DEA license.
• Minimum of five years of healthcare experience required.

This role includes 50–60% clinical practice, with the remainder dedicated to CMO and administrative responsibilities.
