Position Summary  The Director of Clinical Services will oversee all clinical programs at a behavioral health facility that treats patients with mental health and substance use disorders. The role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care, regulatory compliance, and effective program operations. The Director provides clinical and administrative leadership to multidisciplinary teams, fosters a patient-centered culture, and aligns services with the hospital   s mission and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities   Leadership & Management
Provide strategic direction and day-to-day oversight for clinical teams including therapists, social workers, and other licensed clinicians.

Ensure efficient, coordinated clinical operations and effective collaboration between departments.

Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and patient-centered care.

Serve as a key member of the facility leadership team and make independent clinical decisions to ensure quality care.

Collaborate closely with corporate leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals and initiatives.

Program Development & Implementation
Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based clinical programs that meet community needs.

Integrate evidence-based practices and measurement-based care into treatment planning and clinical workflows.

Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes, satisfaction, and utilization of services.

Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and accrediting bodies (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).

Monitor clinical performance metrics, identify trends, and implement corrective action plans when needed.

Oversee clinical documentation and reporting to maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records.

Ensure all safety and infection control requirements are met within clinical areas.

Staff Development & Supervision
Supervise, mentor, and develop clinical staff, supporting professional growth and clinical competency.

Provide or coordinate clinical supervision as needed, ensuring adherence to evidence-based assessments, interventions, and measurement-based care.

Conduct regular fidelity monitoring of clinical programming and groups, and provide training/coaching when practice drift is identified.

Manage hiring, onboarding, performance management, and scheduling of clinical staff.

Conduct regular caseload reviews to optimize service utilization.

Oversee required trainings and certifications (e.g., CPR, de-escalation, crisis management).

Collaboration & Community Engagement
Partner with hospital leadership to align clinical services with broader facility initiatives and organizational values.

Serve as liaison between clinical staff, administration, and external partners.

Engage with community organizations, referral sources, and other providers to enhance access and build strong relationships.

Additional Responsibilities
Lead or support crisis intervention efforts and care coordination for high-risk patients.

Maintain a limited caseload and provide onsite coverage for clinical programs as needed.

Develop and maintain clinical operating policies and procedures consistent with standards of care and regulatory requirements.

Address patient concerns and work to resolve complaints related to clinical services.

Participate in an on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications   Education
Master   s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field required.

Licensure / Certifications
Fully independent clinical license in the state of   Louisiana   (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT or equivalent)…
