Dietitian - Oncology Clinic - Full Time - Jeff Hwy

Job Summary

This position coordinates the nutritional care of patients. The role includes completing nutritional assessments, preparing nutrition care plans, recommending nutritional therapies, and monitoring the effectiveness of nutritional care. The individual provides nutrition education to promote improved health, follows standard practices and complies with regulatory requirements, and participates in community education, marketing, and public relations efforts. Attendance at committee meetings, in‑services, and continuing education programs is also required.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related field
• Completion of American Dietetic Association (ADA) approved Standards of Education

Three (3) years of clinical work experience.

• Registered Dietitian status with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the ADA
• Current licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist status within the state of practice
• Advanced certification recognized by ADA & CDR (if applicable)

• Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and role‑specific software packages.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Substantial knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition, nutrition support principles, counseling techniques, teaching, and presentation skills.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess nutritional status and develop appropriate care plans based on identified problems.
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills to meet frequent deadlines.
• Ability to travel throughout the facility.

• Assists in the day‑to‑day operations of the department such as training new employees, resolving issues and improving processes.
• Assesses patients’ nutritional needs and prepares nutritional care plans.
• Provides nutritional education and counseling to patients.
• Documents records completely and accurately.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, introducing oneself appropriately, explaining services or procedures, and communicating effectively.
• Other related duties as required.

Medium work level: occasional lifting of 20 to 50 pounds, frequent lifting of 10 to 25 pounds, and constant lifting of up to 10 pounds. The role requires walking, standing, and sometimes pushing or pulling materials. The job may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, and communicable diseases. Occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or waste is possible, depending on specific duties.
