In our Interventional Radiology, you won’t just operate advanced imaging technology — you’ll be an essential part of a highly specialized IR team. You’ll work alongside experienced interventional radiologists and skilled nurses to diagnose and treat complex vascular disease in real time. Every case is dynamic. Every decision matters. Every patient is someone’s family member.

- Demonstrates proficiency and quality in procedures according to departmental policy and procedure in technical performance of x‑ray and angiography.
- Accepts and performs duties according to departmental protocols.
- Selects appropriate techniques, labels and marks digital films correctly.
- Applies knowledge of the principle of scrubbing circulating, X‑ray and hemodynamic monitoring techniques.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all Cath lab / specials equipment and operates Medrad injector and Radiology equipment.
- Maintains radiation exposure ALARA and operates x‑ray devices according to safety protocols.
- Ensures X‑ray badges are maintained according to policy and employees are aware of badge results.
- Maintains good radiation safety and provides necessary services to Cardiovascular/X‑ray Tech.
- Accurately records x‑ray dosage and exposure time.
- Ensures that radiation equipment is tested at appropriate intervals.
- Coordinates work schedule with Departmental Director or scheduling desk to ensure coverage.
- Assumes responsibility for patient safety, mental and physical comfort, maintains daily logs and exam billing forms.
- Maintains equipment, work area and adequate supplies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Maintains current license with both LSRT and ARRT.
- Maintains current license for CPR.
Experience or training as a Radiology Tech, Cath Lab Tech, Radiology Special Procedures tech, or Interventional Radiology.
Licenses and Certifications- Radiology Technician from the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board
- Basic Life Support, Heart Saver & First Aid from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
- Radiography Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology
