the injury prevention senior analyst is responsible for developing and implementing projects that increase safety and reduce morbidity and mortality from injuries. Target injury prevention focus areas include motor vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian crashes, falls, poisonings, unintentional firearm injuries, fires and burns. Within those priority areas, the injury prevention senior analyst must analyze the current data to identify the frequency, patterns, and risk for injury in the community.

Based on their analyses, the senior analyst will advocate for legislative and enforcement strategies, educational/behavioral change strategies, and engineering and technology interventions to reduce injuries. This position will coordinate and collaborate with local health care agencies, state agencies, nonprofits, the media, and the general public to raise awareness about the causes of injuries and prevention strategies; and related duties as required.

  • a bachelor's degree
    * from an accredited college or university in public health, social work, a social scienceor a closely related field.
  • one (1) year of professional experience developing and implementing community health or wellness programs.
  • ideal candidates will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to effectively engage the public along all demographics, and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
