American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology role requiring 2+ years experience and Epic proficiency.
Requirements- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- BLS required; ARRT or RCIS accepted
- ARRT certification and LA State License required (license required if applicable; temporary LSRT accepted, 3-5 day issuance)
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Proficient in venous access, port accessing/management, central venous and PICC line care and maintenance
- Skilled in procedural responsibilities including EKG lead placement, equipment set up, accurate monitoring, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, Star Close) preferred
- Familiarity with a broad range of IR, cardiac cath lab, EP, neurological, and genitourinary procedures preferred
- Interventional Radiology unit performing 16-20 cases per day
- 5x8 hour day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Call requirement of 1 day per week
- 4-6 weekend shifts required
- May float to Cath Lab
- Work settings include Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology
- Utilizes fluoroscopy (Siemens), CT, Philips X-ray, Philips Xper, and PACS systems
- Responsibilities include scrubbing and maintaining sterile fields, room circulating, and preparing access sites for a wide range of interventional procedures
- Exposure to advanced cardiac cath lab and EP procedures such as TAVR, Impella, ECMO, PCI, and cardiac ablation
- Involvement in vascular, neurological, and genitourinary interventional studies including embolization, stent placement, and thrombectomy
- Must follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols and may participate in rapid response/code teams
- Responsible for maintaining equipment, stocking supplies, and managing inventory
- Permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel positions
- Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at the local rate
