ELMHS is seeking a passionate
Professional Counselor to deliver client-centered services, including assessment, case management, crisis intervention, and community resource coordination. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations facing mental health challenges, trauma, or crises.
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT).

Job DutiesIn this role, you will:
- Serve the early, middle, and late adult population. Provide a specialized counseling component in an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary team approach to planning and treatment.
- Conduct individual and group counseling conjointly or under close supervision.
- Assess the level of care and intervention, including discharge, reassignment, change of treatment strategies and techniques; communicate these findings to the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Select and recommend, with general supervision, therapeutic intervention strategies and treatment approaches based on psychosocial assessment to an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Develop a working knowledge of correctional or community resources in order to recommend or refer offenders for specialized services.
- Prepare correspondence with community agencies and serve as primary liaison person with all outside agencies such as courts, schools, foster care, and legal authorities.
- Provide psychosocial case management to individuals, groups, and families when this intervention is determined to be most appropriate.
