Job Summary

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is a seeking a full-time exempt NP Nurse Supervisor for the New Orleans Inpatient Services Program. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with flexibility that may require evenings and weekends to ensure proper coverage.

The NP Nurse Supervisor is responsible for leading the medical team in the Inpatient Services treatment program in alignment with policies, procedures, and approved workflows by Senior leadership. The NP Nurse Supervisor provides high-quality Client-focused health care services that meetthe assessed and individually planned needs of all clients in the Inpatient Services treatment program.

• assume aleadership role in the agency;
• supervise, orientate, and assistall medical staff in the delivery of patient care;
• Conduct H&Ps, discharges, extension sand intake assessments for inpatient clients;
• schedule all medical shifts ensuring that all shifts are covered, and if needed work any open shifts;
• review nurse’s timecard activity for accuracy and ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures;
• conduct nursing meetings andensure proper documentation stored in SharePoint;
• oversee medical matters including but not limited to medical documentation, and reporting of abuse and neglect;
• ensure compliance with HIPAA Privacy Rules;
• participate in weekly One on One meetings and monthly in-services;
• work collaboratively withother departments including but not limited to Human Resources, and Compliance and Quality Assurance;
• participate in clinical discussions with Inpatient Bohn Management;
• assist in maintaining theclient census and timely movement of clients through the treatment program;
• complete incident reports andensure nurses are completing Incident Reports per agency policy, ensure all Incident Reports are submitted to Program Manager and Director promptly;
• safely administer medications asordered using the five rights and utilizing a MAR;
• ensure a narcotic pill count is conducted at the beginning and end of each shift and management of stock medicines;
• manage patient pharmacy orders bytimely processing PAs, by fax or verbal order, ensure their arrival and logthem onto patient’s MAR;
• manage theMAR daily, weekly, and monthly as needed
• ensure the security of narcotics, keys, and all other medications;
• participate in medication and medical supply inventory control;
• manage the medication refrigerator;
• oversee pharmacy coordination asneeded, including but not limited to Pharmerica, MHSD, Avita, St. Vincent De Paul ’s, and local community pharmacies;
• monitor prescribed medication consumption and treatments;
• coordinate the management of patient’s medication stock, including pharmacy pick-up and drop-off of meds, calling in refills for clients, andupkeep of how medication is stored;
• educate clients on prescribed medication tapers;
• ensure communication of medication procedures to discharged clients andscan discharged clients acknowledgement receipts of medications;
• ensure psych ed groups occur as scheduled with approved curriculum;
• encourage clients’ participation by empowering them;
• be flexible when taking care ofclients in need;
• always maintain professionalism with staff members and clients;
• complete an accurate census andcount all clients daily;
• complete triage on patient at timeof admission and transcribe it to relevant paperwork for MDT;
• attend weekly treatment team meetings and raise any concerns to the Counselors regarding clients, listen to concerns from the Counselors and assist if it is a medical issue;
• ensure coordination with FQHCoccurring in a timely manner;
