The vision of the Central Louisiana Human Services District (CLHSD) is to ensure access to care for all individuals within its catchment area—Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, Rapides, Vernon, and Winn Parishes—who are in need of behavioral health (mental health and substance use disorder) and developmental disabilities programs and services.

We’re looking for a Professional Counselor 3 or 4 to service full range of clinical services within the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program.

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT) plus two years of licensed counseling experience.

• Participates in the decision-making process of the treatment team, including formulating therapeutic activities.
• Serves as a group leader/facilitator in counseling groups made up of persons with substance use disorders.
• May conduct peer reviews to refine the quality and level of outpatient substance use services provided.
• Manages caseloads of clients diagnosed with substance abuse issues

Probational Appointment.

This position may be filled as a Professional Counselor 3 or 4.

This vacancy is located at the Central Louisiana Human Services District. This announcement serves to fill vacancies in our Caring Choices Clinic in Leesville.

This position offers the following starting rates for each level:

• Professional Counselor 3 -$21.46/hourly; $1,716.80/bi-weekly.
• Professional Counselor 4 -$22.96/hourly; $1,836.80/bi-weekly
• Eligible for premium pay of one dollar ($2.00) per hour for hours worked.

The advertised maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title/level over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
