Occupational Therapist School Orleans, LA

Make a meaningful difference in students lives by supporting PreK-8th grade learners in a dynamic school environment near New Orleans, LA. This opportunity allows you to work onsite within a collaborative setting, sharing office space with a Physical Therapist and Adapted Physical Education specialist. Youll have valuable assistance from a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) one day each week, providing you with a supportive network as you help students thrive.

• Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license for Louisiana
• Previous school-based OT experience strongly preferred
• Ability to effectively manage a diverse caseload of PreK-8th grade students
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Comfort working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Enthusiasm for contributing positively to students growth and school success

• Deliver occupational therapy services and interventions aligned with students IEPs
• Evaluate student needs and create treatment plans tailored to individual goals
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and family members to promote student progress
• Document services accurately and timely in accordance with school and state guidelines
• Consult with your PT, APE, and COTA colleagues to coordinate holistic care
• Participate in school meetings and contribute to ongoing student support initiatives

This full-time, onsite contract position follows the academic calendar, beginning in August and ending in May, with a consistent daytime schedule. The environment is team-oriented and supportive, encouraging professional development and collaborative problem-solving.
