Rad​/CT Tech

Rad/CT Tech is responsible for performing radiological examinations as required by staff physician’s orders and under the direction of the Radiologist. Performs ultrasound procedures to adult and pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Performs various types of diagnostic X-ray procedures, adjusts x-ray equipment settings, determines proper voltage and exposure and positions patient. Performs specific procedures utilizing ionizing radiation.

Assists physicians in assigned examinations utilizing contrast media and/or specific tomographic examinations. Maintains and monitors patient environment, adheres to safety procedures and contributes to the security and maintenance of the unit. May be required to perform various types of diagnostic X-ray procedures and produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical area.

Position Qualifications

Education:

• Associate or Bachelor Degree in Radiologic Technology
• AMA school of Ultrasound Technology diploma preferred

Experience:

• One year of Ultrasound Tech experience in a healthcare environment
• One year of Rad Tech experience in a healthcare environment preferred

Licenses/Certificates:

• Current Louisiana Radiologic Technologist license (LSRT) verified thru Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners
• Current ARRT registration verified thru American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
• BLS/CPR certification renewed by the recommended renewal date. American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification required within 90 days of hire date and thereafter renewed by the recommended renewal date.
