Overview
Banquet Houseman Flexible Schedule (AM & PM) role at Hotel Monteleone.
Summary:
The Banquet Houseman sets up tables, chairs and other necessary equipment in hotel meeting rooms for scheduled banquet events.
- Sort, count, fold, marks or carry linen
- Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
- Transport and arrange tables and chairs as specified in BEOs
- Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays; dispose of trash and waste appropriately
- Assist with other duties as assigned
- Language Ability - Interact and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds; read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; communicate verbally and in writing in English; present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
- Math Ability - Add/subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide with tens and hundreds; use units of American money, weight, volume and distance
- Reasoning Ability - Apply common sense to carry out instructions; handle problems with a few concrete variables
- Work Environment - Noise level typically moderate
- Physical Demands - Frequently lift/move 50-100 pounds; stand, talk, hear; walk, use hands, reach; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
- Position Status and Availability - Full-time with flexible AM or PM shift, Monday to Sunday including holidays
- Experience and Education - High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of customer service; at least 1 year of Banquet Houseman experience in a luxury hotel
- Customer Service - Promptly respond to customer needs and requests; meet commitments
- Interpersonal - Solve conflicts, maintain confidentiality, listen without interrupting, remain open to ideas
- Oral and Written Communication - Clear, persuasive speech; effective written communication
