Job Description Summary

The Beverage Server serves beverages to patrons seated at tables in bar or cocktail lounge.

Job Description Key Job Functions
  • Take beverage order and relays it to Bartender.
  • Collect order from Bartender, adds appropriate garnish, places on tray, and serves to patrons with cocktail napkins.
  • Compute bill and accepts payment.
  • Take orders for and serves light meals and hors d'oeuvres.
  • Request identification from customers when legal age is questioned.
  • Remove empty or dirty glasses and bottles and returns them to the bar or kitchen.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned station and work area
  • Comply with service standards according to the Royal Sonesta Hotel Beverage Manual.
  • Build solid relationship with your Colleagues
  • Treat colleagues with respect and dignity
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.
  • Deliver Passionate & Engaging Service to our Guests
  • You will be passionate and truly engaged in taking care of our guests, recognizing individual guests and anticipating their unique needs in order to exceed their expectations

  • Greet or welcome everyone, warmly with a smile

  • Establish/anticipate needs
  • Solve and own all requests/complaints

Qualifications And Skills
  • Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience.
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates.
  • Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Louisiana Responsible Vendors Certification.
  • Prior experience with MICROS a plus.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
