Front Office Manager – Evening Manager on Duty

The Front Office Manager acts as the Front Office presence covering Manager on Duty (MOD) shifts. This role focuses on the evening MOD shift, working closely with all hotel departments to emphasize guest service and satisfaction. Supervision of all front office line staff is a primary responsibility.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Act independently as MOD, covering evening shifts.
- Supervise all front office staff including front desk, communications, uniform services, and concierge.
- Offer MOD support to other unsupervised departments as needed.
- Act as Travel Pass Champion.
- Distribute minutes and conduct the Manager’s Meeting.
- Oversee VIP arrivals and perform VIP Escorts.
- Act as Lobby Ambassador.
- Track and follow up on in‑house guest challenges.
- Resolve guest‑related issues and liaison with other departments to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist with post‑stay guest follow‑up.
- Perform property rounds.
- Act as Front Office representative during pre‑construction tours.
- Monitor and coordinate concierge requests.
- Provide site tours of the hotel.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and alcohol services.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the hotel.
- Minimum one year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred knowledge of Opera and internet software.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Effective presentation skills in one‑on‑one and small group settings to customers, clients, and employees.
- Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience.
- Strong communication skills; a significant amount of time used for training, safety, guest interaction, and associate interaction.
- Bi‑lingual communication skills are a plus.
- Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or listen; use hands to manipulate items or reach; occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Close vision is required.
