About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Site Human Resources Partner located in Plaquemine, LA
!

The Site Human Resources Partner will support a client base located at the Louisiana Operations sites, supporting leaders and employees to deliver against the people strategy, maintaining partnership and relevance to drive business results.

You will be required to gain an understanding of the business and corporate culture, drive change initiatives, communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, develop trusting relationships, and provide valuable feedback that enhances performance for all. You will report to the Associate HR Director for the US Gulf Coast and collaborate within a network of HR Partners, while also working closely with other areas of the HR operating model.

Responsibilities
  • Partner and consult to understand relevant client strategies and how they are activated through the people agenda.
  • Display thorough knowledge of policy and legislation to provide professional guidance and support in complex policy interpretation and employee relations issues.
  • Connect, redirect and consult with people leaders on the portfolio of HR solutions to solve business needs.
  • Resolve complex problems by applying in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of HR partner processes with at least intermediate knowledge of all other HR disciplines.
  • Lead project and/or steps of projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
  • May be accountable for ongoing activities or objectives.
  • Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
  • Work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Understand best practices and how HR processes relate to others.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information and handle sensitive people issues.
  • Work to build consensus.
  • Examine information from multiple sources and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions.
  • Performance impacts a range of clients, projects, or activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Facilitate and educate leaders on direct partnership philosophy.
  • Audit compliance with ethics programs and procedures, investigate complaints, and verify that deficiencies are corrected.
  • Adopt a proactive approach towards regulation. Help to ensure policies and labor agreements are appropriately maintained, communicated and understood across the organization at the site, in order to improve compliance and promote positive employee relations.
  • Evaluate risk associated with employee relations issues to develop and advise on options.
  • Assist with employee and labor relations strategy and implementation for all organizational changes.
  • Integrate the relevant client strategy into the broader business/functional/site strategy.
