Hours:

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m.

- 4:30 p.m. Schedule will be determined by the supervisor to meet the needs of maintaining the efficiency of governmental operations.

Fifth District, Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Human Resources Associate to support critical human resources operations.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate and administer daily human resources operations.
  • Provide accurate and timely processing of payroll, employee transactions, and personnel actions.
  • Support recruitment and hiring processes.
  • Administer leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave (FMLA).
  • Maintain and safeguard confidential human resources records and information, ensuring data integrity and compliance with retention and confidentiality requirements.
  • Provide guidance and customer service to employees and supervisors regarding HR policies, procedures, pay, benefits, and personnel processes.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Four years of full‑time work experience in administrative support, at least two years of which were in a human‑resources‑related program area.
  • All of the following (a, b, and c):
  • One year of full‑time work experience in administrative support in a human‑resources‑related program area; and
  • A total of one year of education and/or full‑time experience in administrative support in a human‑resources‑related program area, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full‑time experience.
  • A total of two years of education and/or full‑time experience in general administrative support, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full‑time experience.
  • Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to 12 months of full‑time work as a Human Resources Technical Assistant, Human Resources Technical Specialist, Secretary (any level), or Administrative Assistant (any level).
