Job Overview
Highly responsible technical and supervisory work of a specialized nature developing, implementing, monitoring and directing enterprise security strategies for the City of New Orleans. Work includes establishing and amending security policies that protect network, systems, and data environments.
Key Responsibilities- Present reports on security performance at engineering, manager, and executive levels.
- Support reporting mechanisms to capture information on the current status of the environment.
- Standardize all incident identification, tracking, and reporting procedures.
- Investigate, recommend methods and techniques to obtain solutions.
- Provide managerial and technical guidance for all security projects in complex networked environments.
- Related work as required.
Note: Employees in this classification may work a fixed or rotating shift, Saturdays and emergencies. Employees are considered essential and must report to work in declared emergencies.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), engineering, telecommunications, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in an information technology environment. Work must have included the use of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, and/or other related technology.
- Alternatively, nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in an information technology environment. Work must have included the use of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, and/or other related technology.
A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating will be given only for related experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
